Welcome to Abraham Lincoln Elementary School PTO
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  On behalf of our PTO (parent teacher organization), we would like to welcome all returning students and their families. We would also like to extend a special welcome to those who are new to the Lincoln family. We are looking forward to a fabulous school year. Lincoln is a very special place, as many of you know or will soon find out. We are most fortunate to have a principle like Dr. Stark, and an outstanding team of teachers and staff that truly care and support our children in their quest for knowledge. A goal of the Lincoln PTO is to provide each child who attends our school with fun and educational opportunities which will enhance the great learning experience our teachers and administrators provide. With a strong support system, our children will be able to strive for and achieve their dreams. We are looking forward to the 2011-2012 school year. You will find there are many ways to get involved in your child’s school and to meet other Lincoln families. We encourage you to jump in - the only experience needed is to have a child at Lincoln! We promise to support you and work alongside of you in your endeavor. One role the PTO plays is funding such programs such as field trips, assemblies, class parties, and many other opportunities for students. In the coming weeks you will have the opportunity to help support the Lincoln PTO and raise the necessary funds that go directly to the students!  1. Every family is encouraged to become a member of the PTO for $10 per family.  2. Each child will bring an Entertainment Book home the week of the 19th. We are requesting that each student sells at least one book, with incentives to sell more. 3. A Yankee Candle sale is scheduled for the holiday season, details to follow. 4. Market Day order forms will be sent home. This is a great way to support Lincoln and provide your family with yummy food. Check out the Market Day website, www.marketday.com to register, receive special offers, and to place on-line orders. 5. Other ongoing fundraising opportunities during the year include “Box Tops”, registering your Giant Eagle Advantage Card and Target Red Card, and saving Shop n Save Receipts and Campbell’s product labels. Our first PTO meeting is on September 15 @ 9:30am in the Health room. So please come and join the Lincoln PTO! Come to our meetings to see what is going on and bring your ideas and your pencils to sign up and get involved!
